Cadillac Escalade Transmission Problems From A Professional Point Of View
The Cadillac Escalade is certainly one of the most premium SUVs that you will find on the road. When you have worked hard, and you have the privilege adding one of these fine vehicles to your personal fleet, you certainly want to take care of this four wheeled sign of success.
Just a few minutes ago, I answered a telephone call from someone who, unfortunately, experienced some sort of catastrophic failure in the transmission, and the vehicle was towed from the freeway to one of the local dealerships. As if that was not bad enough, the price that was quoted for the repairs left him speechless.
In his mind he was starting to justify the cost of the repair, because, after all, the vehicle is a Cadillac, and well, it carries one of the largest price tags of any other vehicle in the GM lineup. One might assume that almost everything associated with that vehicle comes with a premium level price tag.
That just is not true. Not true at all.
Now, many of the components of the vehicle are exclusive to the Cadillac badge, however, most of the major systems of the vehicle are shared with the less expensive counterparts - the Tahoe and the Yukon.
The Escalade is equipped with the same transmission offered in those trucks. If it is the same transmission, why should the owner of a premium vehicle be forced to pay a premium price on for mechanical repairs... hey, there is not a hood ornament on the transmission so who cares where you buy it.
These transmissions are not any different than any other transmission out there. These transmissions fail, and have some very common causes of failure just like any other mass produced automotive component.
So, you want your Escalade fixed, but you don't want to pay Cadillac prices? Who could blame you for that!

ReplyDeleteFixing a transmission can be costly. Admittedly, the type of car does help determine the cost of transmission repair. It is just the way it is. However as you said, a premium car doesn't mean it requires a premium cost for transmission repairs. If you pay attention and keep your eyes open, you should be able to get your car fixed for the right price.

I agree that there are ways to have a transmission repaired for a decent price. I have a friend who helped me find a new transmission at a junk shop. I ended up paying a lot less for it compared to what I would have had to pay for a brand new transmission.

Transmission problems can be incredibly difficult to deal with. The vehicle will still run, but it will have pretty bad issues. I think it's important to get things like that figured out right away. I have had problems with transmission before and things can go pretty bad if you don't solve the problem quickly.

It's really interesting that you can find the same type of transmission in a Cadillac and in a regular truck. I had no idea that those transmissions were so commonly used. It's really good to know that if I were to need to repair my Cadillac, I could find parts and services cheaper than the ones at the dealership. I'll hopefully be able to save quite a bit of money by going to a regular transmission service shop in the future. http://www.unlimitedservice.us
ReplyDeleteMy car has been having some serious transmission issues. It won't shift any higher than third gear. It means that I can't take the car to work, and I can barely drive it around town. I need to have the transmission looked at. Hopefully my car can be fixed, otherwise I am going to have to buy a new car. http://www.coronacarrepair.com
ReplyDeleteThe other day I noticed my car was acting really weird and I couldn't figure out why. A buddy of mine told me that it very could be my transmission and that I probably should get it looked at. I don't really know what to look for in these kind of services, but this has some great insights on things that I should be looking for.

I am very amazed by the information of this blog and i am glad i had a look over the blog. thank you so much for sharing such great information.transmission replacement
ReplyDeleteOh, I'm guessing that the transmission repair on that Escalade would turn out quite expensive if it were to be ignored. What would be the signs of a trouble transmission coming from that type of vehicle? I ask this because of an Escalade that my cousin bought from an auction and so far it's been having problems.
