What does the free diagnostic include?

The free diagnostic service that Select Transmission & Automotive provides is a three part process.

First, we road test the vehicle. During a road test, our well trained technicians will be able to experience the problem that you are experiencing. This is very important, because they will know exactly what you are trying to correct.

Second, we connect the vehicle to one of the most advanced diagnostic machines available. By doing this, we are able to view and monitor almost all of the systems in the vehicle. Most later model vehicles have multiple on board systems that monitor everything from exhaust gas levels, engine misfires, solenoids, engine temperatures and much more. By viewing the diagnostic data, we can isolate problems relatively quickly.

The last portion of the diagnostic process is putting the vehicle inside the shop and on a lift. We then visually inspect the car for bad wiring connections, broken wires, leaks or other concerns that are obvious to the eye. Sometimes, what seems like a major problem is nothing more than a wire that has come unplugged.
